Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Assistant to join our team in the telecommunications sector in Dubai. The successful candidate will support our environmental initiatives, ensuring compliance with local and international environmental regulations while promoting sustainable practices within the organization. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about environmental sustainability and eager to make a difference in the telecommunications industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Regulatory Compliance:
- Assist in monitoring and ensuring compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and standards relevant to the telecommunications industry in the UAE.
- Help prepare environmental reports and documentation required for governmental agencies and stakeholders.

2. Data Collection and Analysis:
- Conduct field surveys and data collection related to environmental impact assessments and audits.
- Analyze environmental data and prepare reports to support decision-making processes regarding sustainability practices.

3. Sustainability Initiatives:
- Support the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of telecommunications operations.
- Participate in the creation of awareness programs and training sessions for employees regarding environmental practices and sustainability.

4. Project Support:
- Assist with environmental projects, including waste management, energy efficiency, and resource conservation initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into business strategies and operations.

5. Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of environmental performance metrics and compliance activities.
- Help prepare presentations and reports for management and stakeholders on environmental initiatives and progress.

6. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Assist in liaising with governmental bodies, NGOs, and community organizations on environmental matters.
- Support outreach efforts to engage employees and the community in sustainability programs.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in environmental management, sustainability, or a related role, preferably within the telecommunications sector.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and practices in the UAE.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and environmental assessment tools.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with project management and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 standards and other environmental management systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to environmental challenges.

Working Conditions:

- Based in Dubai, with occasional travel to field sites for data collection and assessments.
- The role may require working in outdoor environments and involves physical activity.
