Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team in the Aerospace and Defense sector in Dubai. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards, implementing best practices, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization. The EHS Specialist will work closely with various departments to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks while fostering a sustainable and safe workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international environmental health and safety regulations relevant to the Aerospace and Defense industry.
- Stay updated with legislative changes and industry standards affecting EHS practices.

2. Risk Assessment:
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Analyze incident reports and data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

3. Training and Awareness:
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels of the organization.
- Promote EHS awareness through workshops, seminars, and informational materials.

4. Incident Management:
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and safety inspections, ensuring timely reporting to management.

5. Sustainability Initiatives:
- Collaborate with departments to implement environmental sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing waste, emissions, and energy consumption.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of sustainability programs and recommend improvements.

6. Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures to ensure preparedness for potential environmental or safety incidents.
- Conduct emergency drills and ensure that all employees are familiar with emergency protocols.

7. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to promote EHS considerations in project planning and execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for EHS-related inquiries and issues.

8. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of EHS policies, procedures, and compliance records.
- Prepare and submit EHS reports to management and regulatory agencies as required.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years and maximum of 8 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety, preferably within the Aerospace and Defense sector.
- Certification in EHS management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of local and international EHS regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
