Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Epidemiologist to join our team in the field of education in Dubai. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in epidemiology, public health, and data analysis, with a passion for improving health outcomes within educational settings. The Epidemiologist will be responsible for conducting research, analyzing health data, and developing strategies to address health issues affecting students and educational staff.

Key Responsibilities:

- Research and Data Analysis: Conduct epidemiological studies to assess the prevalence and impact of health issues within educational institutions. Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends and inform decision-making.

- Health Education Programs: Collaborate with educational stakeholders to design, implement, and evaluate health education programs aimed at promoting healthy behaviors among students and staff.

- Surveillance and Reporting: Establish and maintain health surveillance systems to monitor communicable and non-communicable diseases in schools. Prepare and present reports on findings to key stakeholders including school administrators, government agencies, and community organizations.

- Policy Development: Assist in the development of health-related policies and procedures that address the unique needs of the educational environment. Provide evidence-based recommendations to improve health services in schools.

- Collaboration: Work closely with public health officials, educators, and community organizations to promote health initiatives and ensure a coordinated response to health challenges in the education sector.

- Training and Capacity Building: Facilitate workshops and training sessions for educators and school health personnel on topics related to epidemiology, data collection, and health promotion strategies.

- Grant Writing and Funding: Assist in identifying funding opportunities and preparing grant proposals to support research projects and health initiatives within the education sector.

Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in epidemiology or public health research, preferably within an educational context.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex health information to diverse audiences.
- Experience in program evaluation and health promotion is a plus.
- Knowledge of local health regulations and policies in the UAE is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
