Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Faculty Assistant to support the academic and administrative functions within the Agriculture department. The successful candidate will work closely with faculty members, assist in research projects, and contribute to the overall success of the department. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about agriculture, education, and research.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Academic Support:
- Assist faculty members in the preparation of course materials, including syllabi, lecture notes, and presentations.
- Coordinate and schedule lectures, seminars, and workshops.
- Provide support during laboratory sessions and field research, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

2. Research Assistance:
- Assist in the development and execution of research projects related to agriculture.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data, and help in the preparation of research reports and publications.
- Maintain accurate records of research activities and contribute to grant writing and funding applications.

3. Administrative Duties:
- Manage departmental communications, including emails, phone calls, and correspondence.
- Organize and maintain departmental files, records, and databases.
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning for departmental activities and projects.

4. Student Support:
- Provide academic advising and support to students enrolled in agriculture programs.
- Assist in organizing student events, workshops, and extracurricular activities.
- Facilitate communication between students and faculty members to enhance the learning experience.

5. Collaboration and Networking:
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including agricultural organizations, government agencies, and industry partners.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to strategic planning and program development.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in an academic or research setting, preferably within the field of agriculture.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with data analysis software.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
