Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Service Manager Assistant to join our team in the education sector in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will support the Food Service Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the food service department, ensuring high standards of food safety, quality, and customer service are maintained. This role is essential in providing nutritious and appealing meals to students and staff while adhering to dietary guidelines and budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Food Service Manager in planning, organizing, and coordinating the daily operations of the food service department.
- Support menu planning and development, ensuring that meals are nutritionally balanced, appealing, and cater to dietary restrictions.
- Supervise food preparation and service, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
- Assist in managing inventory and procurement of food supplies, maintaining accurate records and minimizing waste.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality food production.
- Monitor staff performance, providing training and support as needed to ensure excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen and dining areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Assist in budgeting and financial management of the food service department, including tracking expenses and maintaining cost control.
- Engage with students, parents, and staff to gather feedback on food service and address any concerns or suggestions.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in food service management and nutrition.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to strategic planning for the food service department.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, Culinary Arts, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in food service management or a related role, ideally within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food service operations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with food service management software is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
