Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Geoscientist to join our dynamic team in Dubai, specializing in the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in geosciences and a keen interest in applying scientific knowledge to support investment decisions and risk assessments related to natural resources. This role will involve collaborating with financial analysts, risk assessment teams, and investment managers to evaluate geological data and provide insights that drive strategic financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct detailed geological and geophysical research to analyze natural resources, including minerals, oil, gas, and water resources, with a focus on their economic viability.
- Collaborate with financial analysts to assess potential investment opportunities in the energy and natural resources sectors, providing scientific expertise to inform decision-making.
- Develop and maintain geological models and databases to support investment evaluations and risk assessments, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations for stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in geoscience and financial markets to provide informed insights and recommendations.
- Evaluate environmental impacts of geological projects and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Participate in fieldwork and site visits as necessary to collect samples and data, and to assess geological conditions firsthand.
- Assist in the development of financial models that integrate geological data for valuation and forecasting purposes.

Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in Geoscience, Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in geoscience, geology, or a related field, preferably within the financial services or energy sector.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex geological data and integrate it with financial models.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in geological software and data analysis tools (e.g., GIS, ArcGIS, Petrel, or similar).
- Familiarity with financial principles and investment analysis is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
