Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our healthcare team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and proper handling of all linens, uniforms, and other textile items used within the healthcare facility. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining a hygienic environment and supporting the overall operational efficiency of our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

- Sorting and Classification: Sort and classify laundry items, including patient linens, staff uniforms, and other textiles by type, color, and degree of soiling to ensure effective cleaning.

- Washing and Drying: Operate washing machines and dryers according to established protocols and safety guidelines, ensuring that all items are cleaned thoroughly while adhering to infection control standards.

- Folding and Distribution: Fold and package laundered items neatly, and distribute them to the appropriate departments or storage areas in a timely manner.

- Maintenance of Equipment: Perform routine maintenance checks on laundry equipment, reporting any malfunctions or necessary repairs to the supervisor promptly.

- Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on laundered items to ensure they meet cleanliness standards and are free from damage.

- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining inventory levels of laundry supplies, alerting management when stock levels are low or when re-ordering is necessary.

- Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and infection control practices.

- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of laundry services, including weight, type, and any issues encountered during processing.

- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to ensure a seamless flow of laundry services in support of patient care and staff needs.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in a laundry or housekeeping role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with laundry equipment and chemicals used in the washing process.
- Knowledge of infection control standards and health and safety regulations related to laundry services.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 25 kg) and stand for long periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work in varying temperatures.
