Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Marine Biologist Technician to join our dynamic team in Ras Al Khaimah, focusing on the intersection of marine biology and energy production. The successful candidate will assist in conducting field and laboratory research to support sustainable energy initiatives while monitoring the ecological impact of energy operations on marine environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Field Research: Conduct field studies to collect biological samples, water quality data, and other relevant environmental parameters in marine ecosystems. This includes surveying marine life and habitats affected by energy projects.

- Laboratory Analysis: Perform laboratory analyses on samples collected from the field, employing various techniques such as DNA barcoding, water quality testing, and organism identification to assess biodiversity and ecosystem health.

- Data Management: Maintain accurate records of all research activities, including sample collection, laboratory results, and field observations. Analyze data using statistical software and prepare reports summarizing findings.

- Environmental Monitoring: Assist in the ongoing monitoring of marine ecosystems surrounding energy production sites, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards.

- Technical Support: Provide technical support to senior marine biologists and project managers in the development and implementation of marine impact assessments, mitigation strategies, and conservation measures related to energy projects.

- Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental scientists, and regulatory agencies, to communicate research findings and contribute to project planning and decision-making.

- Community Engagement: Participate in outreach and educational programs aimed at raising awareness about marine conservation and the importance of sustainable energy practices within the local community.

- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while conducting fieldwork and laboratory analyses to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in marine biology, environmental monitoring, or related research fields.
- Strong knowledge of marine ecosystems, biodiversity, and conservation principles.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment used in marine biology research.
- Familiarity with data analysis software (e.g., R, Python, GIS) is preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Additional Requirements:

- Willingness to work in various outdoor environments, including coastal and marine settings.
- Ability to travel to field sites as required.
- Valid UAE driving license is an advantage.
