We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Medical Librarian to join our healthcare organization in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have a passion for medical literature and research, as well as a strong background in library science and information management.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize the healthcare organization's medical library, including cataloging and classifying books, journals, and other resources
- Provide reference and research assistance to healthcare professionals, researchers, and students
- Develop and maintain electronic databases and digital collections
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical literature and resources, and make recommendations for new acquisitions
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support evidence-based practice and research initiatives
- Provide training and instruction on information literacy and research skills
- Participate in library outreach and promotional activities to raise awareness of library services and resources
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Library Science or Information Management
- Minimum of 2-8 years of experience as a medical librarian in a healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, classification systems, and information resources
- Experience with library management systems and digital resources
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of emerging trends in library and information science
