Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing venipunctures and collecting blood samples for diagnostic testing, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures for blood collection in a safe and efficient manner.
- Prepare patients for blood collection by explaining the procedure and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Ensure accurate identification of patients and proper labeling of specimens to maintain sample integrity.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to strict infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Monitor and document patient reactions during and after blood collection, providing appropriate care as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication regarding patient needs and specimen processing.
- Maintain and manage inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for phlebotomy procedures.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, including adherence to best practices and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stay updated on advancements in phlebotomy techniques, technologies, and regulations through ongoing education and training.
- Assist in training and mentoring new staff or students in phlebotomy techniques and procedures as required.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a phlebotomy training program is required.
- Valid certification in phlebotomy from an accredited organization.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a phlebotomy role within a healthcare setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on patient care and comfort.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures related to blood collection and handling.
- Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHR) and laboratory information systems (LIS).
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
