Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Power Plant Engineer to join our dynamic team in the education sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, operation, maintenance, and optimization of our power plant systems. This role requires a strong technical background and a passion for renewable energy solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop innovative power plant systems that meet educational and operational objectives.

- Operation Management: Oversee the daily operations of the power plant, ensuring all systems function efficiently and safely. Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements as necessary.

- Maintenance Oversight: Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all equipment and systems to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of plant assets.

- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all operations comply with local, national, and international regulations. Promote a culture of safety within the plant and conduct regular safety audits.

- Performance Analysis: Analyze and report on the performance of plant systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes to optimize energy production.

- Project Management: Lead projects related to plant upgrades, expansions, or new installations. Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure project completion on time and within budget.

- Training and Development: Provide training to staff on power plant operations, safety procedures, and maintenance practices, fostering a knowledgeable and skilled workforce.

- Research and Innovation: Stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in power generation and sustainability. Conduct research to identify new methods for improving plant efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in power plant engineering or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of power generation technologies, including renewable energy sources.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools for system design and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and standards in the energy sector.
- Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) is an advantage.
