Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and strategic Public Affairs Program Manager to join our team in Dubai, focusing on the Aerospace and Defense sectors. This pivotal role involves managing public affairs initiatives that enhance our organization’s reputation, engage stakeholders, and influence policy in alignment with our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy Development:
- Design and implement comprehensive public affairs strategies that align with organizational goals and industry trends.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting the aerospace and defense sectors, providing insights and recommendations.
2. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry associations, and community leaders.
- Represent the organization at public events, conferences, and meetings to promote our interests and objectives.
3. Communication Management:
- Develop and disseminate communication materials, including press releases, policy briefs, and position papers that articulate the organization’s stance on relevant issues.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications teams to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
4. Advocacy and Policy Influence:
- Advocate for policies and initiatives that support the growth of the aerospace and defense sectors.
- Engage in lobbying efforts and coordinate with external consultants as necessary to influence decision-makers.
5. Research and Analysis:
- Conduct research on public opinion trends, stakeholder perceptions, and policy developments to inform strategic decisions.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management on public affairs activities and outcomes.
6. Crisis Management:
- Develop and implement crisis communication plans to address public relations challenges effectively.
- Act as a point of contact for managing and resolving public affairs issues as they arise.
7. Team Leadership:
- Lead a team of public affairs professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve departmental goals.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs, Political Science, Communications, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, or communications, preferably within the aerospace and defense sectors.
- Proven track record of successful stakeholder engagement and advocacy efforts.
- Strong understanding of the political landscape and regulatory environment in the UAE and the broader Middle East region.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform research and analyze data effectively.
- Experience in crisis management and the ability to thrive in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and public relations software.
