Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic Information Technology team in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with a passion for building scalable data pipelines and ensuring data integrity across multiple platforms. This role requires an individual who is adept at transforming raw data into meaningful insights that drive decision-making and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes to facilitate the ingestion, processing, and storage of large datasets from various sources.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Optimize data models and databases for performance and scalability, ensuring high availability and reliability of data systems.
- Implement data quality checks and monitoring processes to ensure accuracy and consistency of data across the organization.
- Work with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to design and deploy data architectures that meet business objectives.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data engineering processes, including data models, workflows, and data dictionaries.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering, big data, and cloud computing; provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Mentor and guide junior data engineers and team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in data engineering and software development.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or a related field, with a strong focus on ETL processes, data warehousing, and database management.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with SQL for data querying and manipulation.
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Knowledge of data modeling techniques and experience with database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Data Lake).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
