Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic team in the retail sector based in Dubai. As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that enhance our retail operations and customer experience. This position requires a strong understanding of Java programming, software development principles, and a passion for delivering innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and implement robust and scalable Java applications in accordance with business requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX/UI designers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Analyze and improve existing applications, identifying opportunities for optimization and performance enhancements.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to resolve issues and optimize performance.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and apply them to improve software development processes.
- Participate in Agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to streamline deployment processes and ensure smooth operations of applications in production.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Java development, with a strong understanding of Java frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate).
- Proficient in web technologies such as RESTful APIs, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle), including writing complex queries and optimizing database performance.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and Scrum.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in the retail industry or e-commerce domain.
- Understanding of front-end technologies and frameworks (e.g., Angular, React) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
