Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team in the Aerospace and Defense sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with a focus on financial reporting, compliance, and auditing specific to the aerospace and defense industry. Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and GAAP.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results to management and stakeholders.

2. General Ledger Maintenance:
- Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of all accounting records.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis to assist in decision-making.

4. Audit and Compliance:
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
- Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.

5. Cost Accounting:
- Analyze costs associated with projects, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with contract terms.
- Prepare cost reports and provide insights for management regarding project profitability.

6. Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and oversee the preparation of tax returns.
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation impacting the aerospace and defense industry.

7. Team Leadership:
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Assist in the development of accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

8. Special Projects:
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as required, including system upgrades, process improvements, and financial analysis.
- Support management in strategic financial planning and analysis.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with a focus on the aerospace and defense industry.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and local tax regulations.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
