Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Sustainability Manager to lead our sustainability initiatives within the Transportation and Logistics sector based in Sharjah. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and managing sustainable practices that align with our organizational goals while minimizing environmental impact. This position requires a strategic thinker with a passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving change in the transportation and logistics industry.

Key Responsibilities:

- Sustainability Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy for the organization, focusing on reducing carbon footprint, improving energy efficiency, and enhancing sustainable practices across all transportation and logistics operations.

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, national, and international environmental regulations and standards. Stay updated on relevant legislation and industry trends to guide organizational practices.

- Performance Measurement: Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives. Regularly report on progress to senior management and stakeholders.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives. Facilitate workshops and training sessions to raise awareness and encourage participation in sustainability efforts.

- Supply Chain Sustainability: Work closely with supply chain and logistics teams to identify opportunities for sustainable sourcing, waste reduction, and resource optimization in logistics operations.

- Project Management: Lead sustainability projects from inception to completion, including conducting feasibility studies, managing budgets, and ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.

- Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in sustainability and logistics. Advocate for innovative solutions that advance the organization's sustainability agenda.

- Reporting and Communication: Prepare detailed reports on sustainability performance and communicate results to internal and external stakeholders. Promote success stories and best practices through various communication channels.

- Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a team of sustainability professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and engagement in sustainability practices.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field. A Master's degree is highly desirable.

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability management, preferably within the transportation and logistics sector.

- Strong knowledge of sustainability principles, environmental regulations, and best practices.

- Proven experience in project management, with a track record of successfully implementing sustainability initiatives.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

- Proficiency in sustainability reporting frameworks and tools (e.g., GRI, CDP, ISO 14001).

- Familiarity with green technologies and practices relevant to transportation and logistics.
