Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Software Assistant to join our dynamic team in the Transportation and Logistics sector based in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, a solid understanding of software applications, and a commitment to improving operational efficiency through innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Software Support: Assist in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of various software applications used in transportation and logistics operations. Respond to user inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.

- Data Management: Help manage and analyze data collected from shipping operations, inventory management systems, and customer databases. Ensure data integrity and accuracy for reporting purposes.

- System Upgrades: Collaborate with IT and software development teams to implement software updates and enhancements. Participate in testing new functionalities and documenting processes.

- User Training: Provide training and support to end-users on software applications, ensuring they are proficient in utilizing the tools available to them. Develop user manuals and training materials as needed.

- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within existing software applications. Propose solutions that enhance workflow efficiency and reduce operational costs.

- Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of software processes, user guides, and technical specifications. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.

- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Operations, Logistics, and Customer Service, to understand their software needs and provide appropriate solutions.

- Project Assistance: Support project managers with software-related tasks during project implementation, including gathering requirements, testing, and user feedback.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in a software support or IT role, preferably in the transportation and logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of software applications and systems relevant to logistics and supply chain management.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including Excel, SQL, or similar software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and assist users.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies is a plus.

Additional Skills:

- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) is an advantage.
- Understanding of logistics operations and supply chain management principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being able to work independently.
