Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Therapy Assistant to join our team in Sharjah, specializing in the energy sector. The ideal candidate will support licensed speech-language pathologists in providing high-quality therapy services to individuals with communication and swallowing disorders related to their work environment in the energy industry. This role requires a compassionate approach and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist speech-language pathologists in the assessment and treatment of patients with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.
- Implement therapy plans designed by the speech-language pathologist, focusing on enhancing communication skills and improving swallowing functions.
- Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities, ensuring that patients are engaged and motivated throughout their sessions.
- Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising speech-language pathologist.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as occupational therapists and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care tailored to the needs of patients in the energy sector.
- Educate patients and their families about communication strategies and techniques to improve daily interactions, especially in work-related settings.
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatment sessions and progress in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Assist in the preparation of materials and resources for therapy sessions, ensuring all necessary tools are available and effective.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to the development of therapy programs that cater specifically to the needs of employees within the energy industry.
- Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in speech therapy and related fields, integrating new knowledge into therapy practices.

Qualifications:

- An Associate’s degree in Communication Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Speech Therapy Assistant or in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or corporate setting.
- Certification or licensure as required by UAE regulations for Speech Therapy Assistants.
- Strong understanding of speech and language development, assessment techniques, and therapy interventions.
- Familiarity with the specific communication challenges faced by individuals in the energy sector is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
- Proficiency in both English and Arabic is preferred but not mandatory.
