Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Student Advisor Assistant to join our dynamic team in the Aerospace and Defense sector. This role is crucial in providing exceptional support to students, helping them navigate their academic journey while ensuring they have access to the necessary resources and guidance to succeed in their studies and future careers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of educational processes, have excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a passion for student development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Student Support:
- Assist students with inquiries regarding academic programs, course selection, and career opportunities in the Aerospace and Defense sectors.
- Provide guidance on academic policies, procedures, and requirements, ensuring students understand their responsibilities and options.

2. Advising:
- Collaborate with academic advisors to prepare and conduct workshops and information sessions for prospective and current students.
- Help students set academic and professional goals, offering tailored advice based on individual needs and aspirations.

3. Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate student records, update databases, and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Assist in the scheduling of appointments between students and academic advisors, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.

4. Event Coordination:
- Support the planning and execution of student events, workshops, and seminars related to Aerospace and Defense.
- Coordinate with external partners and industry professionals for guest lectures, internships, and career fairs.

5. Resource Management:
- Develop and maintain informational materials, such as brochures and online resources, to assist students in understanding their academic paths.
- Act as a liaison between students and faculty, ensuring timely communication regarding academic issues or concerns.

6. Feedback and Improvement:
- Collect and analyze student feedback to enhance the advising process and student experience.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on best practices in student advising and support.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field; a degree in Aerospace Engineering or Defense Studies is a plus.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in an academic advising, student support, or educational administration role.
- Strong understanding of the Aerospace and Defense industry and its educational requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and student information systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
