Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Technician to join our team in the Financial Services sector in Dubai. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of substance abuse disorders and their impact on individuals in high-stress environments, particularly within the financial industry. The technician will play a crucial role in providing support, education, and intervention strategies for employees, contributing to a healthier workplace and promoting overall employee well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct assessments and screenings to evaluate the substance use and behavioral health needs of employees.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Provide ongoing support and counseling to employees struggling with substance abuse and related issues.
- Facilitate educational workshops and training sessions on substance abuse awareness, prevention strategies, and coping mechanisms tailored for the financial services industry.
- Monitor and document employee progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Serve as a liaison between employees and external treatment providers, ensuring a seamless referral process for additional services as needed.
- Participate in developing workplace policies related to substance abuse and promote a culture of openness and support.
- Stay updated on trends in substance abuse treatment, prevention strategies, and regulatory requirements specific to the financial services sector.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and management to create a supportive environment that encourages employees to seek help without fear of stigma or retaliation.
- Respond to emergencies related to substance abuse incidents, providing immediate intervention and support.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Addiction Counseling, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years and maximum of 7 years of experience in substance abuse counseling, mental health services, or a related area.
- Certification or licensure as a Substance Abuse Counselor or similar credential is preferred.
- Strong understanding of substance abuse issues, particularly in high-pressure environments such as financial services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse employees.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Experience in creating educational materials and conducting training sessions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.
