Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Waste Management Engineer to join our team in the Aerospace and Defense sector. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing waste management systems that minimize environmental impact while ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. This position requires a thorough understanding of waste management practices, engineering principles, and sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Waste Management Strategy Development: Design and develop waste management strategies that align with the company’s sustainability goals and regulatory requirements. Evaluate current waste processes and recommend improvements.

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all waste management practices comply with local, national, and international regulations. Stay updated on changes to legislation and best practices in waste management.

- Waste Assessment and Data Analysis: Conduct thorough waste assessments to identify types and quantities of waste generated. Analyze data to develop reports on waste generation trends and disposal methods.

- Technical Solutions: Design technical solutions for waste reduction, recycling, and disposal. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement these solutions effectively.

- Project Management: Lead waste management projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary.

- Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs for staff on proper waste management practices. Promote a culture of sustainability within the organization.

- Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with waste disposal vendors and recycling facilities. Negotiate contracts and ensure services meet required standards.

- Research and Development: Stay informed about new technologies and methods in waste management. Evaluate and recommend new processes and equipment to enhance operational efficiency.

- Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports on waste management performance, including metrics on waste reduction, recycling rates, and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in waste management, preferably within the Aerospace and Defense industry.
- Strong knowledge of waste management regulations and best practices.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Excellent project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Desired Skills:

- Familiarity with Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and ISO 14001 standards.
- Experience with hazardous waste management is a plus.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and initiatives in the aerospace and defense sectors.

Working Conditions:

- This position may require occasional travel to project sites or vendor locations.
- The role may involve fieldwork, requiring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
