Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Water Quality Specialist with a strong background in Information Technology to join our team in Al Ain. The ideal candidate will have a passion for environmental sustainability and a solid understanding of water quality management and analysis. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise in IT systems and applications, alongside a commitment to maintaining and improving water quality standards in our region.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Water Quality Monitoring and Data Analysis:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret water quality data from various sources, including field sampling, laboratory results, and automated monitoring systems.
- Utilize advanced data analytics tools and software to assess water quality trends and identify potential contaminants.

2. IT System Development and Management:
- Develop and maintain IT applications and databases specifically related to water quality management.
- Implement and optimize water quality monitoring systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

3. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international water quality standards and regulations.
- Prepare and submit reports to regulatory authorities as required.

4. Technical Support and Training:
- Provide technical support to team members and stakeholders regarding water quality monitoring technologies and IT systems.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on water quality data management and IT tools.

5. Research and Development:
- Engage in research initiatives aimed at improving water quality assessment methodologies and technologies.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in water quality management and information technology.

6. Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with environmental scientists, engineers, and other professionals to address water quality issues effectively.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including governmental agencies, NGOs, and community groups.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Water Resources Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in water quality management or a related field, with a strong focus on IT applications.
- Proficient in data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, R, Python) and database management (e.g., SQL).
- Familiarity with water quality parameters, sampling techniques, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing technologies.
- Knowledge of machine learning and data visualization tools.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the UAE or the Middle East region is an advantage.
