Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Anthropologist to join our team in the retail sector based in Sharjah. The successful candidate will utilize their expertise in human behavior, culture, and social dynamics to enhance our understanding of consumer preferences and improve retail strategies. This role requires a unique blend of analytical thinking, cultural insight, and practical application of anthropological methods to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct ethnographic research to gain insights into consumer behaviors, shopping patterns, and cultural influences on purchasing decisions.
- Analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends and inform retail strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, and sales teams to translate anthropological findings into actionable business recommendations.
- Design and implement field studies, including interviews, focus groups, and participant observations, to gather rich qualitative data on customer experiences.
- Create detailed reports and presentations summarizing research findings, insights, and recommendations for various stakeholders.
- Stay updated with current trends in anthropology and retail to ensure that our strategies are innovative and culturally relevant.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions for staff to promote an understanding of consumer culture and its implications for retail practices.
- Engage with local communities to foster relationships that enhance the brand's connection with diverse consumer segments.
- Assess the impact of retail environments and layouts on customer behavior, providing recommendations for optimization.
- Contribute to the development of marketing campaigns that resonate with target audiences based on anthropological insights.

Qualifications:

- A Master’s degree in Anthropology, Sociology, or a related field; a Ph.D. is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in applied anthropology, consumer research, or a related field within the retail sector.
- Strong qualitative research skills with experience in ethnographic methods and data analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with retail environments, consumer behavior theories, and market research methodologies.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and qualitative research tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the diverse consumer base in the UAE.
