Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Art Gallery Curator to lead our innovative and dynamic art space dedicated to showcasing works that reflect the themes of Aerospace and Defense. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in art curation, a deep understanding of the aerospace and defense industries, and exceptional communication skills. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between art and technology, and promoting the cultural significance of these fields through curated exhibitions and educational programs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Exhibition Planning and Curation:
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for exhibitions that highlight the intersection of art, aerospace, and defense.
- Research and select artworks, installations, and artists that align with the gallery’s mission and thematic focus.
- Collaborate with artists, collectors, and institutions to secure loans and partnerships for exhibitions.

2. Research and Development:
- Conduct in-depth research on contemporary and historical art related to aerospace and defense.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and innovations in both the art world and the aerospace and defense sectors.

3. Community Engagement and Education:
- Create programming that fosters dialogue and education around the themes of the exhibitions, including workshops, lectures, and panel discussions.
- Engage with local, national, and international communities to promote the gallery and its initiatives.

4. Collection Management:
- Oversee the care and management of the gallery’s collection, ensuring proper documentation, preservation, and storage.
- Develop policies and procedures for acquisitions, deaccessions, and collection care.

5. Marketing and Promotion:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and strategies to enhance visibility and attract diverse audiences.
- Utilize social media and digital platforms to promote exhibitions and events.

6. Administrative Responsibilities:
- Prepare budgets and financial reports related to exhibitions and programs.
- Assist in grant writing and fundraising efforts to support gallery initiatives.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Museum Studies, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in art curation, preferably with a focus on aerospace, defense, or related themes.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary art practices and theories, particularly as they relate to technological advancements and military history.
- Proven experience in organizing and managing exhibitions from conception to installation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in digital tools and platforms for curation and marketing.

Preferred Skills:

- Familiarity with the art market and experience in negotiating loans and acquisitions.
- Understanding of the aerospace and defense industries, including their cultural and historical significance.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus, particularly in Arabic and English.
