Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commodity Manager to join our dynamic team in the retail sector in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and supply chain management, with a proven track record of effectively managing commodity sourcing and supplier relationships to drive cost efficiency and quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commodity Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for various commodities to meet the company's operational and financial objectives.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and supply chain dynamics to inform strategic decisions.

2. Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to establish optimal contracts and agreements that align with business goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

3. Cost Management and Optimization:
- Monitor commodity prices and market conditions to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.
- Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses to internal stakeholders to support procurement decisions.

4. Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and inventory management, to ensure alignment and support for commodity needs.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on market conditions and procurement strategies.

5. Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
- Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.

6. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize data analytics to assess procurement effectiveness and drive informed decision-making.
- Prepare regular reports on commodity performance, market trends, and cost-saving initiatives for senior management.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in commodity management, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the retail industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools; experience with procurement software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a results-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of market trends and commodity pricing in the retail sector.
