Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Database Operations Program Manager to lead our database management initiatives within the pharmaceutical sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing database operations, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability, and driving continuous improvement in our database systems. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support our mission of delivering high-quality pharmaceutical products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of databases to ensure high performance, security, and availability.
- Program Development: Design, implement, and manage database operations programs that align with organizational goals and compliance standards within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies to maintain data accuracy and integrity, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EMA).
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of database administrators, data analysts, and IT professionals to foster a high-performance culture and ensure professional development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, R&D, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs teams to ensure seamless integration of database systems with business processes.
- Project Management: Plan, execute, and oversee database-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Utilize project management methodologies to track progress and deliverables.
- Performance Monitoring: Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of database operations and identify areas for improvement.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with external vendors and service providers to manage database-related contracts and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Incident Management: Lead incident response efforts for database-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to business operations.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on database performance, project status, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in database management, operations, or a related field, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Strong knowledge of database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL), data modeling, and database design principles.
- Experience with database security and compliance standards specific to the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven project management skills with experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and reporting software is a plus.
