Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Operations Program Manager to join our dynamic team in the transportation and logistics sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our database operations, ensuring data integrity, availability, and performance to support our business objectives. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and a strategic mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Database Management: Oversee the administration, maintenance, and monitoring of databases to ensure optimal performance and availability. Work with various database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and cloud-based databases.

- Program Management: Lead database-related projects from inception to completion, including planning, execution, and delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and timelines.

- Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies and best practices. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards.

- Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization. Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data.

- Collaboration: Work closely with software development, IT, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of database solutions into existing systems and workflows.

- Reporting and Analytics: Develop and implement reporting solutions to provide insights into database performance and usage. Utilize data analytics to drive decision-making and improve operational efficiency.

- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database architectures, configurations, processes, and procedures. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.

- Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members and stakeholders on database operations and best practices. Act as a point of contact for database-related inquiries and issues.

- Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning and budgeting for database operations. Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in database technologies and processes.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in database operations, management, or a related role, preferably within the transportation and logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases.
- Experience with cloud databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL) and database migration strategies.
- Proficient in performance tuning, backup, and recovery processes.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of successfully leading database-related projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
