Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Deaf Interpreter to join our team in Abu Dhabi, focusing on the Consumer Goods sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in interpreting services, particularly in environments that require effective communication between deaf and hearing individuals. This role is critical in ensuring accessibility and inclusivity within our organization and enhancing communication between our diverse clientele and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide accurate and clear interpretation services for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in various settings, including meetings, presentations, training sessions, and customer service interactions.
- Facilitate communication between deaf clients and hearing stakeholders, ensuring that all parties understand the content and context of the discussions.
- Assess the needs of deaf individuals and provide appropriate interpreting services based on those needs, while adhering to best practices and ethical standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions, respecting the privacy of individuals and sensitive information.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to develop and implement strategies for improving accessibility for deaf clients.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with interpreting techniques, industry standards, and changes in sign language.
- Educate staff about best practices for communicating with deaf individuals and promote awareness of deaf culture within the organization.
- Prepare reports and documentation as needed to track interpreting services and client interactions.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Interpretation, Linguistics, Social Sciences, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in interpreting within a professional setting, preferably in the Consumer Goods industry or a similar environment.
- Proficiency in sign language (e.g., ASL, BSL, or other relevant forms of sign language), with a strong understanding of deaf culture and community.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret in various contexts, including technical, corporate, and customer service environments.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and accurately.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment for all individuals.
- Certification or accreditation from a recognized interpreting organization is highly desirable.

Working Conditions:

- The role may require occasional travel within the Abu Dhabi region for different events or client meetings.
