Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Drug Treatment Counselor to join our team in Dubai. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance abuse and related issues. The Drug Treatment Counselor will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement tailored treatment plans, facilitate counseling sessions, and promote recovery and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their substance use history, treatment needs, and psychological well-being.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, ensuring they align with best practices in substance abuse treatment.
- Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions to clients, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to foster recovery.
- Monitor client progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans, ensuring continuous support and intervention as needed.
- Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery processes, and coping strategies to enhance understanding and support.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors, psychiatrists, and social workers, to provide holistic treatment and facilitate referrals when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in substance abuse treatment.
- Engage in community outreach and awareness programs to promote understanding of addiction and available treatment resources.
- Support clients in developing life skills and strategies for reintegration into society, including vocational training and educational opportunities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in substance abuse counseling or related fields.
- Certification or licensure as a substance abuse counselor is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of addiction treatment modalities and recovery processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and families.
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude towards clients.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
