Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Food Operations Manager to oversee and enhance the food service operations within our educational institution in Dubai. This role is crucial in ensuring that students and staff receive high-quality, nutritious meals while adhering to all health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service management, a commitment to promoting healthy eating habits, and a strong background in operations within an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operational Management: Oversee daily food service operations, ensuring efficient and effective food preparation, service, and distribution in compliance with established standards and guidelines.

- Menu Development: Collaborate with nutritionists and chefs to design and implement nutritious, appealing, and culturally diverse menus that cater to the needs of students and staff.

- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen and service staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development.

- Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage the food service budget, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality. Analyze financial reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

- Quality Assurance: Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are met, conducting regular inspections and audits. Implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain compliance with local health regulations.

- Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with food suppliers and vendors to ensure the procurement of high-quality ingredients at competitive prices. Negotiate contracts and monitor service agreements.

- Program Development: Create and promote food-related educational programs and initiatives that encourage healthy eating habits among students and staff, including workshops, tastings, and nutrition education sessions.

- Customer Service: Address concerns and feedback from students, staff, and parents effectively, ensuring a high level of satisfaction with food services. Implement strategies to enhance the overall dining experience.

- Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and implement strategies aimed at reducing food waste and promoting sustainable practices within the food service operations.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality Management, Nutrition, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in food service management, preferably within an educational environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and nutrition principles.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Proficiency in budget management, financial forecasting, and cost control.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in menu planning and development, with a focus on health and nutrition.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
