Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Gemologist to join our dynamic team in the telecommunications sector based in Dubai. This unique position combines the art of gemology with the innovative world of telecommunications, where you will have the opportunity to work with high-value gemstones used in specialized telecommunications equipment and luxury electronic devices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Gem Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of gemstones, including diamonds, sapphires, rubies, and other precious and semi-precious stones, ensuring they meet quality standards for use in telecommunications products.

- Certification and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and certificates for gemstones, documenting their characteristics, quality, and value. Ensure all paperwork complies with industry standards and regulations.

- Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Work closely with engineering and design teams to understand the specific requirements for gemstones in telecommunications applications, providing expertise on the selection and sourcing of materials.

- Market Research: Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in both the gemology and telecommunications industries. Conduct market research to identify new gemstone suppliers and emerging technologies.

- Quality Control: Implement quality control processes to ensure that all gemstones used in products meet the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. Conduct regular inspections and testing.

- Client Interaction: Liaise with clients and stakeholders to provide expert advice on gemstone selection, value assessment, and investment opportunities. Conduct presentations and educational seminars on gemology.

- Inventory Management: Manage and maintain the gemstone inventory, ensuring accurate records and responsible sourcing practices. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality gemstones.

- Training and Development: Mentor and train junior gemologists and staff on gemological techniques, ethical sourcing practices, and industry standards.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Gemology or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in gemology, with a strong focus on gemstones used in luxury products or electronics.
- Proficiency in gemological testing and evaluation techniques, including the use of microscopes, refractometers, and other gemological tools.
- Strong knowledge of gemstone grading systems and certification processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a diverse audience.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with telecommunications technology and its applications in luxury goods is a plus.
