Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Geoscientist to join our dynamic telecommunications team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in geoscience, with a focus on applying geological principles to enhance telecommunication infrastructure and operations. The Geoscientist will play a pivotal role in analyzing geographical and geological data to optimize the placement and performance of telecommunication networks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct geological, geophysical, and geospatial analysis to evaluate the suitability of sites for telecommunications infrastructure, including towers, antennas, and fiber optic installations.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to provide geoscientific insights that inform the design and implementation of telecommunication projects.
- Perform site assessments and surveys, utilizing advanced geospatial technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and remote sensing.
- Analyze soil and rock samples to determine their physical and chemical properties, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and visualizations of geological findings, including maps, charts, and presentations, to stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Assist in the identification and mitigation of geological hazards that could impact telecommunications infrastructure, such as landslides, subsidence, or seismic activity.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in geoscience and telecommunications technology, integrating new methodologies and tools into ongoing projects.
- Collaborate with environmental scientists and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local and international environmental standards and best practices.
- Participate in project planning and budgeting, providing geoscientific expertise to help manage resources effectively.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience, Geology, Geophysics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in geoscience, preferably in the telecommunications sector or related industries.
- Strong proficiency in GIS software and tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and geospatial analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with telecommunications infrastructure design and deployment processes is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex geological concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Knowledge of local geological conditions and environmental regulations in the UAE is preferred.
