Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lumberyard Manager to oversee our lumberyard operations in Abu Dhabi, focusing on the energy sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lumber management, operations, and customer service, with a proven track record of success in a supervisory role. The Lumberyard Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient operations, maintaining high safety standards, managing staff, and building strong relationships with clients and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the lumberyard, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal inventory management.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to meet customer demands and project timelines.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.

2. Staff Management:
- Supervise, train, and mentor lumberyard staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to encourage professional development.
- Schedule staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage and support during peak operational times.

3. Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, implementing safety training programs for all employees.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training and incidents within the lumberyard.

4. Customer Service:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies for increasing sales and expanding customer base.

5. Financial Management:
- Monitor budget and expenses related to lumberyard operations, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare reports on inventory, sales, and operational performance for upper management.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts for the lumberyard.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Forestry, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in lumberyard management or a related field, preferably within the energy sector.
- Strong understanding of lumber products, inventory management, and industry regulations.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Working Conditions:

- The position requires physical activity, including lifting and moving lumber products.
- Work may be performed in outdoor environments, subject to varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
