Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Marine Biologist Technician to join our team in Ras Al Khaimah, focusing on marine biology applications within the manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will support our research initiatives, conduct fieldwork, and assist in the development of sustainable practices for marine resource utilization. This role is essential for ensuring that our manufacturing processes align with environmental standards and contribute positively to marine ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Research and Data Collection: Conduct field surveys and collect biological samples from marine environments. Assist in studying marine organisms, their habitats, and the impact of manufacturing processes on marine ecosystems.
- Laboratory Analysis: Perform laboratory analysis on collected samples, including water quality testing, species identification, and population assessments. Utilize various techniques and equipment to analyze biological data.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records of research findings, including data entry, analysis, and reporting. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings to team members and stakeholders.
- Collaborative Projects: Work closely with marine biologists, environmental scientists, and manufacturing engineers to develop and implement projects aimed at minimizing environmental impact and promoting sustainability in manufacturing practices.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations regarding marine biodiversity and conservation. Assist in preparing documentation for environmental impact assessments.
- Public Outreach: Participate in educational and outreach programs to promote awareness of marine conservation issues and the importance of sustainable manufacturing practices. Assist in organizing workshops and seminars.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate laboratory and field equipment, ensuring all tools are in proper working condition for accurate data collection and analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in marine biology research or related roles.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment used in marine biology research.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare clear reports and presentations.
- Experience with environmental regulations and compliance related to marine ecosystems is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in data management software and statistical analysis tools.
