Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Materials Planning Manager to join our team in Abu Dhabi, focused on enhancing the operational efficiency of our educational resources. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the procurement, inventory, and distribution of materials required for our educational programs and facilities. This individual will work closely with various departments to ensure that all educational materials are available and utilized effectively, ultimately contributing to our mission of providing high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:

- Materials Planning & Procurement:
- Develop and implement materials planning strategies to ensure timely availability of educational resources.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts and manage procurement processes, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Analyze material requirements based on educational programs, enrollment projections, and inventory levels.

- Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory levels of educational materials, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained to meet program needs.
- Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and excess stock, while maximizing efficiency.
- Utilize inventory management software and tools to track and report on material usage and availability.

- Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Work closely with academic departments, administration, and facilities management to understand and anticipate material needs.
- Provide support in the planning and execution of educational events, workshops, and projects, ensuring all necessary materials are procured and available.

- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Conduct regular analysis of material usage trends and prepare reports to inform decision-making and future planning.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring adherence to service-level agreements and quality standards.

- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team responsible for materials planning and procurement, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide training to ensure team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.

- Budget Management:
- Assist in the development and management of the materials budget, ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce material costs without compromising quality.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in materials planning, procurement, or inventory management, preferably within the education sector.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a proven track record of building relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in the education sector or familiarity with educational materials and resources.
- Professional certifications in supply chain management or procurement (e.g., APICS, CIPS) are an advantage.
- Knowledge of local and international procurement regulations and practices.
