Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our dynamic team in the construction sector in Dubai. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of our workforce by performing a variety of laboratory tests and analyses. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, quality control, and compliance with health regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct a range of laboratory tests and analyses on samples collected from employees, including blood, urine, and other biological specimens.
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of samples, maintaining a high level of quality control and assurance.
- Interpret and analyze laboratory results, providing detailed reports to medical personnel and management.
- Collaborate with occupational health professionals to monitor the health status of employees, particularly in relation to exposure to construction-related hazards.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure it is functioning correctly; perform routine maintenance and calibration as needed.
- Adhere to laboratory protocols and safety standards to ensure compliance with local health regulations and industry best practices.
- Participate in the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to junior laboratory staff and interns.
- Stay updated with advancements in laboratory technology and practices, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
- A valid license or certification to practice as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in the UAE.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory setting, preferably with exposure to occupational health in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and safety protocols.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in laboratory information systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in environmental health and safety within the construction sector is an advantage.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and other regulatory requirements relevant to laboratory operations.
