Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mining Technician to join our team in Dubai. This position is integral to the effective operation of our mining technology systems, focusing on data management, analysis, and the optimization of mining processes through innovative IT solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in information technology, along with a keen interest in the mining sector.

Key Responsibilities:

- Data Management: Collect, manage, and analyze data from mining operations to ensure the accurate tracking of resources, production levels, and operational efficiency.

- System Maintenance: Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of mining software and hardware systems, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability.

- Technical Support: Provide technical support to mining staff, troubleshooting issues related to software, hardware, and network connectivity within mining operations.

- Software Development: Collaborate with IT teams to develop and customize software applications that enhance data analytics, reporting, and operational workflows in mining processes.

- Training and Documentation: Conduct training sessions for staff on new technologies and software applications, and create comprehensive documentation for system processes and procedures.

- Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all IT systems and practices comply with industry regulations and safety standards, contributing to a secure and efficient working environment.

- Collaboration: Work closely with geologists, engineers, and other professionals to integrate IT solutions into mining operations, enhancing collaboration and productivity.

- Monitoring and Reporting: Develop and implement monitoring tools to track system performance and report findings to management for continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support or mining technology roles.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
- Experience with mining software applications and technologies (e.g., Mine Planning Software, Geographic Information Systems).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in the mining industry or related fields.
- Familiarity with cloud computing and big data technologies.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices as they pertain to mining operations.
