Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Manager to join our dynamic team in the Transportation and Logistics sector based in Dubai. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services necessary for our operations, while also driving cost efficiencies and fostering supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Procurement Planning: Develop and implement strategic procurement plans that align with the company’s goals and objectives in the transportation and logistics sector. Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability. Negotiate contracts and agreements to establish favorable terms, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
- Inventory Management: Work closely with inventory management teams to forecast demand and ensure optimal stock levels are maintained. Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and reduce costs.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct thorough cost analysis and market research to identify potential savings opportunities. Prepare reports and presentations for management on procurement performance metrics and savings initiatives.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure procurement processes comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Identify and mitigate risks associated with supplier partnerships and procurement activities.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments, including finance, operations, and logistics, to understand their procurement needs and develop strategies to support their objectives.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the procurement team, providing guidance and support in day-to-day operations. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs for procurement activities and monitor performance against these metrics. Implement corrective actions as needed to improve procurement efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (CIPS, CPM, etc.) is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement management, preferably within the transportation and logistics industry.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable contracts.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of market trends, pricing strategies, and supply chain dynamics specific to the transportation and logistics sector.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing teams.
