Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Configuration Manager to join our dynamic team in Sharjah within the retail sector. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the configuration management processes across various retail systems and operations. This position requires a deep understanding of configuration management principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Configuration Management: Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management processes and policies to ensure the integrity of system configurations, software releases, and hardware components within the retail environment.

- Documentation and Control: Create and maintain comprehensive configuration documentation, including configuration item (CI) records, baselines, and change control records. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.

- Change Management: Lead change management efforts by assessing the impact of proposed changes, coordinating change requests, and ensuring successful implementation with minimal disruption to retail operations.

- Collaboration: Work closely with IT, operations, and product management teams to ensure alignment on configuration management practices and to facilitate effective communication regarding changes and updates.

- Auditing and Compliance: Conduct regular audits of configuration items to ensure compliance with established standards and policies. Identify discrepancies and work with relevant teams to resolve any issues.

- Reporting: Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into configuration management metrics, trends, and compliance status. Present findings to senior management and recommend improvements as necessary.

- Training and Mentoring: Provide training and support to team members on configuration management best practices and tools. Mentor junior staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in this area.

- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the configuration management framework and drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in configuration management, preferably in the retail sector.
- Strong understanding of configuration management tools and methodologies.
- Proven experience with change management processes and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with retail systems, software applications, and hardware components is a plus.
- Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., ITIL, CMII) is highly desirable.
