Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our dynamic legal team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of the consumer goods industry and will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support to our business operations across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Legal Advisory:
- Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of matters affecting the consumer goods sector, including regulatory compliance, product liability, consumer protection laws, and intellectual property rights.
- Assist in the development and implementation of business strategies, ensuring legal considerations are factored into decision-making processes.

2. Contract Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including supply agreements, distribution agreements, licensing agreements, and service contracts.
- Ensure contracts are compliant with applicable laws and regulations, and align with the company’s policies and objectives.

3. Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations relevant to the consumer goods industry and assess their impact on the company's operations.
- Develop and implement compliance programs and training for internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to legal standards.

4. Dispute Resolution:
- Manage and oversee legal disputes, including litigation and arbitration, in collaboration with external counsel as necessary.
- Work to resolve disputes amicably and efficiently, minimizing risks and costs to the company.

5. Risk Management:
- Identify potential legal risks and provide strategic advice on risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct legal audits and assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

6. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and supply chain, to provide legal support and guidance on various initiatives.
- Communicate complex legal concepts in an understandable manner to non-legal stakeholders.

7. Team Leadership:
- Mentor and support junior legal staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring a high standard of legal work.
- Collaborate with the wider legal team to share knowledge and best practices.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution; additional legal qualifications (e.g., LLM, Bar admission) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years and maximum of 8 years of relevant legal experience, preferably within the consumer goods or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry.
- Strong knowledge of UAE laws and regulations, as well as familiarity with MENA legal frameworks.
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, compliance, and dispute resolution.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
