Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapy Assistant to join our team in Sharjah. In this role, you will support licensed speech-language pathologists (SLPs) in the assessment and treatment of individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. Your contributions will be vital in helping patients improve their speech, language, and swallowing abilities, thereby enhancing their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Support:
- Assist SLPs in evaluating patients’ speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Help implement individual and group therapy sessions as directed by the SLP.
- Prepare materials and equipment needed for therapy sessions.

2. Therapy Implementation:
- Conduct therapy exercises and activities under the supervision of an SLP.
- Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising SLP.
- Provide feedback and encouragement to patients during therapy sessions.

3. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with SLPs, healthcare professionals, and family members to develop and maintain effective therapy plans.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust therapy approaches as needed.

4. Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and patient progress.
- Assist in the scheduling of patient appointments and manage therapy documentation.
- Ensure that therapy rooms and equipment are clean, organized, and well-maintained.

5. Patient Education:
- Educate patients and families about speech and language disorders and the therapy process.
- Provide resources and support to help them understand and reinforce therapy strategies at home.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical or healthcare setting, preferably as a Speech Therapy Assistant.
- Knowledge of speech and language development, assessment, and intervention techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with electronic health records.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in a pharmaceutical setting is a plus.
- Bilingual capabilities (English and Arabic) are highly desirable.
- Certification from a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASHA or equivalent) is preferred.
