Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sterile Processing Supervisor to oversee the sterile processing department within our educational institution. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are processed in accordance with established guidelines and best practices. The Sterile Processing Supervisor will also be responsible for training and mentoring staff, maintaining quality control standards, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead a team of sterile processing technicians, providing guidance, supervision, and support to ensure the efficient operation of the sterile processing department.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.

- Quality Control and Compliance:
- Ensure all sterile processing activities comply with institutional policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and maintain quality control procedures, including sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and instrument tracking.

- Staff Training and Development:
- Develop and implement training programs for new and existing staff on sterile processing techniques, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
- Provide ongoing education and support to staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in sterile processing.

- Inventory Management:
- Oversee the inventory of sterile supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely replenishment.
- Implement effective inventory control measures to minimize waste and manage costs.

- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the sterile processing department and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline workflows and improve service delivery.

- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, equipment maintenance, and staff training.
- Prepare reports for management regarding departmental performance, compliance audits, and other relevant metrics.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., health sciences, nursing, or engineering) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sterile processing or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Certification in sterile processing (e.g., CSPDT, CRCST) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control practices, and regulatory standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.

Working Conditions:

- This position will be based in Al Ain, within an educational setting, with a focus on maintaining high standards in sterile processing.
- The role may require occasional evening or weekend work to accommodate training sessions or departmental needs.
