Job Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic finance team in the healthcare sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors, and maintaining financial records in compliance with industry regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Invoice Processing: Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and payment requests accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

- Payment Management: Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers, while maintaining a schedule to ensure timely payments to suppliers.

- Vendor Relations: Maintain positive relationships with vendors by responding to inquiries, resolving discrepancies, and providing timely updates regarding payment status.

- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate accounts payable records, including filing invoices and supporting documents, and ensuring organized and accessible filing systems.

- Reconciliation: Assist with monthly reconciliations of accounts payable to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies as needed.

- Reporting: Prepare and present reports on accounts payable activities, outstanding invoices, and cash flow projections to management as required.

- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, policies, and procedures, including adherence to internal controls and audit requirements.

- Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvement opportunities within the accounts payable function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

- Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments, such as procurement and finance, to streamline processes and resolve issues related to payments and vendor management.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
