Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Correctional Treatment Specialist to join our team in Dubai's pharmaceutical sector. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive treatment services and support for individuals in correctional facilities, focusing on rehabilitation and reintegration programs that leverage pharmaceutical knowledge. The role involves collaboration with healthcare professionals and correctional staff to ensure that inmates receive appropriate treatment and services to address their physical and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of inmates to identify their healthcare needs, including mental health, substance abuse, and chronic health issues. Utilize pharmaceutical knowledge to inform treatment plans.

- Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment data, ensuring that they align with the correctional facility's policies and the pharmaceutical guidelines. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement these plans effectively.

- Counseling and Support: Provide counseling and therapeutic support to inmates, focusing on behavioral change, coping strategies, and rehabilitation. Facilitate support groups and educational sessions related to health and wellness.

- Medication Management: Oversee and monitor the administration of medications, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical protocols. Provide education to inmates regarding their medications and potential side effects.

- Collaboration with Providers: Work closely with healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, to coordinate care and treatment strategies. Participate in case conferences to discuss inmate progress and modify treatment plans as needed.

- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inmate treatment plans, progress notes, and any incidents related to treatment. Prepare reports for correctional facility management regarding the effectiveness of treatment programs.

- Crisis Intervention: Respond to emergencies and crises involving inmates, using de-escalation techniques and appropriate interventions. Work to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals within the facility.

- Training and Education: Provide training to correctional staff on mental health awareness, substance abuse issues, and the importance of pharmaceutical care in the correctional setting.

- Program Development: Contribute to the development and evaluation of rehabilitation programs that incorporate pharmaceutical interventions, ensuring they meet the needs of inmates and comply with legal regulations.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Pharmacy, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a correctional setting or a related healthcare environment, preferably with a focus on pharmaceutical treatment.

- Strong understanding of mental health and substance abuse disorders, as well as the role of pharmaceuticals in treatment.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

- Proven ability to develop and implement treatment plans and interventions.

- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to correctional treatment and pharmaceutical care.

- Certification in crisis intervention, mental health first aid, or a related area is an advantage.
