Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Customs Officer specializing in the pharmaceutical sector to join our dynamic team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with local and international customs regulations while facilitating the smooth import and export of pharmaceutical goods.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customs Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all UAE customs regulations and international trade laws specific to pharmaceuticals.
- Review and prepare necessary documentation for the import and export of pharmaceutical products, including invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
2. Risk Assessment:
- Conduct risk assessments on pharmaceutical shipments to identify potential customs issues or compliance risks.
- Monitor and analyze trends in customs regulations and pharmaceutical import/export practices.
3. Liaison and Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the organization and customs authorities.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including logistics, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to ensure seamless operations.
4. Customs Audits and Inspections:
- Prepare for and facilitate customs audits and inspections, ensuring that all necessary documentation is readily available.
- Address and resolve any customs-related inquiries or issues that may arise during inspections.
5. Training and Development:
- Provide training and guidance to staff on customs procedures and regulations related to pharmaceuticals.
- Stay updated on changes in customs legislation, pharmaceutical regulations, and industry best practices.
6. Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all customs transactions and communications.
- Ensure all records are compliant with UAE laws and internal policies.
7. Problem Resolution:
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to customs clearance of pharmaceutical shipments.
- Develop strategies to minimize customs delays and ensure timely delivery of products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in customs compliance or trade regulations, with a focus on the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong knowledge of UAE customs laws, pharmaceutical regulations, and international trade practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in using customs software and Microsoft Office Suite.
