Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Manager to join our dynamic IT team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of our database systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability. The Database Manager will oversee the database development process, support business operations, and contribute to strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

- Database Design & Architecture:
- Develop and implement database strategies, architecture, and processes to align with business needs.
- Design and create database schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures to optimize data storage and retrieval.

- Database Management:
- Monitor and tune database performance to ensure efficient operation and minimize downtime.
- Implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data integrity and availability.
- Manage user access and security protocols to safeguard sensitive information.

- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide solutions.
- Generate regular reports and dashboards to support decision-making processes.

- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead a team of database administrators and developers, providing guidance, training, and mentorship.
- Work closely with IT support teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

- Compliance & Best Practices:
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies, industry standards, and regulations.
- Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices to recommend improvements.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in database management, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong understanding of database design principles, data modeling, and optimization techniques.
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Skills:

- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
- Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Experience with performance tuning and database replication strategies.
