Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Design Operations Program Manager to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design operations within our consumer goods division, driving efficiency, and enhancing collaboration across design teams. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in design management, project coordination, and process optimization. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that our design initiatives align with business goals and support our commitment to delivering innovative products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Management:
- Lead and manage multiple design projects from conception to execution, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Develop and maintain project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and supply chain, to ensure alignment on design objectives.
2. Design Process Optimization:
- Analyze existing design processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
- Establish and maintain standardized design processes to enhance efficiency and output quality.
- Create and manage documentation for design processes, including guidelines, templates, and toolkits.
3. Team Collaboration:
- Foster a collaborative environment among design teams, encouraging creativity and innovation.
- Serve as a liaison between design teams and other departments, facilitating communication and collaboration.
- Organize and lead regular design reviews and brainstorming sessions to enhance team engagement and productivity.
4. Performance Measurement:
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of design operations.
- Monitor project progress and performance metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to gather insights and inform future projects.
5. Vendor and Resource Management:
- Manage relationships with external design agencies and consultants, ensuring alignment with internal objectives.
- Oversee the procurement of design resources, tools, and software, ensuring that teams have the necessary assets to succeed.
6. Training and Development:
- Identify training needs within the design team and facilitate professional development opportunities.
- Mentor junior design staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and career growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in design operations, project management, or related roles, preferably within the consumer goods sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing design projects and optimizing processes.
- Strong understanding of design principles and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Proficiency in project management software and design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
