Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Design Operations Program Manager to join our dynamic team in the education sector. This role will focus on enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our design operations, ensuring that our educational products and services meet the highest standards of quality and innovation. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of design sensibility, project management expertise, and operational acumen.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Management:
- Lead and manage multiple design projects from conception to execution, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, track progress, and report on project status to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including curriculum developers, educators, and technical staff, to align design goals with educational objectives.

2. Design Operations:
- Establish and implement efficient design processes and workflows to optimize productivity and collaboration among design teams.
- Identify areas for improvement in design operations and develop strategies to enhance overall effectiveness.
- Ensure that design outputs reflect the organization's vision and values while meeting the needs of diverse learners.

3. Team Leadership:
- Mentor and support design team members, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate design critiques and provide constructive feedback to enhance the quality of design work.
- Encourage team engagement and professional development through training and workshops.

4. Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for design-related inquiries and collaboration opportunities with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to gather feedback, discuss project updates, and align on design initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and partners involved in the design process.

5. Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring responsible allocation and utilization of resources.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to source materials and tools necessary for design projects.
- Monitor resource availability and optimize team capacity to meet project demands.

6. Quality Assurance:
- Establish quality control standards for design deliverables, ensuring they meet both functional and aesthetic criteria.
- Conduct regular reviews of design work to ensure alignment with educational standards and user needs.
- Implement feedback loops to continuously improve design processes and outputs.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Education, Project Management, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in design operations, program management, or a related role, preferably within the education sector.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
- Strong understanding of design principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in project management software and design tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working in an educational environment or with educational technology products.
- Knowledge of user-centered design and instructional design principles.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and design thinking frameworks.
