Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Director Assistant to join our team in Sharjah, specializing in providing support for agricultural communities. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assisting our Funeral Director in delivering respectful and dignified funeral services while ensuring a seamless experience for grieving families. This position requires a blend of organizational skills, emotional intelligence, and a strong commitment to serving our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Funeral Director in coordinating and executing funeral services, ensuring all details are handled with care and professionalism.
- Help prepare the deceased for viewing, including dressing, grooming, and cosmetic application, while adhering to industry standards and family wishes.
- Coordinate transportation for the deceased and family members, ensuring timely arrivals at the funeral home, cemetery, or other venues.
- Support families in selecting appropriate caskets, urns, and memorial products, while providing empathetic guidance throughout the decision-making process.
- Manage administrative tasks, including filing necessary documents, processing permits, and maintaining accurate records related to funeral services.
- Collaborate with external vendors, including florists, caterers, and cemetery staff, to ensure all aspects of the service are executed smoothly.
- Provide emotional support to grieving families and assist them in navigating the funeral planning process with sensitivity and understanding.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the funeral home and preparation areas, ensuring a welcoming environment for families and visitors.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on industry practices and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field, preferably within a funeral home, healthcare, or community service setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in funeral services or related field is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse individuals and families.
- Compassionate nature, with a deep understanding of the grieving process and the ability to provide comfort to families.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Office and funeral service software.
- Valid UAE driver's license is preferred.
