Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Health Educator to join our healthcare team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting health awareness and education within the community, developing health education programs, and working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to improve public health outcomes. The Health Educator will play a critical role in empowering individuals and groups to make informed health decisions and adopt healthy lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Development:
- Design, implement, and evaluate health education programs tailored to the needs of diverse populations in the community.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to integrate educational initiatives into patient care plans.

2. Community Engagement:
- Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness about health issues and available services.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and health fairs to educate the community on various health topics.

3. Resource Creation:
- Develop educational materials such as brochures, pamphlets, and presentations that are culturally appropriate and accessible.
- Utilize various media platforms to disseminate health information effectively.

4. Assessment and Evaluation:
- Assess community health needs through surveys, focus groups, and other methods to identify knowledge gaps and priority areas for education.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health programs and make recommendations for improvements.

5. Collaboration:
- Work closely with public health officials, local organizations, and stakeholders to promote health initiatives.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss health education strategies and patient care.

6. Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to healthcare staff on health education topics and effective communication strategies.
- Mentor and guide volunteers and interns involved in health education programs.

7. Advocacy:
- Advocate for health policies and initiatives that promote health equity and access to care.
- Stay informed about current health trends and research to inform educational strategies.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in health education or a related role within healthcare.
- Certification as a Health Education Specialist (CHES) or equivalent is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of local health issues, resources, and cultural considerations in Abu Dhabi.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Arabic is preferred, along with English fluency.

Skills:

- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using technology and digital platforms for education and outreach.
- Knowledge of program evaluation and data analysis methods.

Working Conditions:

- The Health Educator will work in a variety of settings, including community centers, schools, and healthcare facilities.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for community events and outreach activities.
